Noodle Lacrosse

Ok, I know I haven't posted for a long time, but here is one in theme of the summer. its called noodle lacrosse.

Origin
One hot summer day a few years ago, my mom, dad, sister, and I were in the pool playing volleyball. We began to play baseball with the beach ball and foam noodles, and of course that was an epic failure. We found a way to hold the noodle so that it would at least hit the ball more than one foot. We were holding the noodle in a "fish" shape with the tail in our hands. As we were trying to hit the ball, one of us actually caught it with our noodle and threw it to the next person. Thus noodle lacrosse was born.

Why Its Fun
It is very silly. That is possibly the only reason why it's fun, but it is fun indeed. It does take skill to play though. It gets very tiring for your hand to hold the bulky noodle in just the right shape to catch and throw. Feel free to go a little crazy with it. There are very few rules. Don't touch the ball with your hands, don't hit people, and have fun. Diving is allowed.................as long as you don't dislocate your knee cap or something.

Post For All Golfers

This post isn't about a game I invented. It is about a way all you golfers out there can practice driving even if you have a small back yard. A year ago I came across this new golfing technology called a Birdie Ball. Check it out.
PROS:
It looks just like a napkin ring and spins just like a golf ball. Its design increases drag and reduces distance, allowing a driver to keep the ball within 40 yards of your "tee-off". They come in white and yellow, making them easy to spot if hit into the woods. It makes a distinctive BUZZ sound when hit properly and is a great ball to use when practicing your driving.
CONS:
Although this is a great product, it may not be worth the money for those who don't intend to golf very often. It is almost $10.00 to buy only 3 birdie balls, and they are only availiable online. The increased drag also increases a slice or hook.
Good news about the price:
One some websites you can buy reject Birdie Balls for much cheaper. These do not have any flaw of structure, it is only the printing on the ball that is flawed. For example: as you can see the circle around the "b" is light green. Lets say that printed a little too dark. That is considered a reject. It may sound silly, but reject balls are a much better deal. I've seen them up for sale at only $1.00 each. You may be saying,"Jeez Andrew, that's alot for just one ball" The glorious truth about it is that you can buy a bucket of 30 for $30.00. For the well printed balls you could only get 9 for $30.00. The figures add up. Birdie Balls are great products for both pro's and people who like to just hit balls around the back yard.

Frisbee on Ice

You all know about ultimate frisbee, but have you ever tried it on ice?

ORIGIN
It was at the Rink in the Leighigh Valley. We were trying to get an ice hockey game going, but nobody had sticks or pads. I found a frisbee my car and brought it in to the arena and me and another kid just were goofing around skating and throwing the frisbee. Next thing we knew there were two large teams playing ultimate frisbee on the ice.

WHY IT'S FUN
Ultimate frisbee on land is all about running and getting yourself open. On ice that's alot more difficult than it sounds. It is almost impossible to stop on a dime and change direction on skates. This may seem like a major set back, but it actually makes the game even for superb skaters and inexperienced skaters. It is almost easier for people who don't skate as fast, but that is certainly not a very big advantage. Ultimate frisbee on ice requires sportsmanship. You can't be serious when you're playing a game as silly as this. It is required that you are able to laugh at yourself if you want to have fun playing this game. For anyone trying ultimate frisbee on ice, I recommend wearing shin and knee pads (as you fall, dive, and slide alot). It's a fun way to meet new people next time you're at an ice arena.

Ultimate Ping Pong!!!

Ever wish you had a ping pong table but could never spare the time, space, or money to get one? The solution is ultimate ping pong!

ORIGIN
One day we had a bad storm and the power went out. My friend and I got the idea to play ping pong on my kitchen table with the light of an electric lantern and a pizza box for a net. I'll just say that this was interesting, but still really fun. The next day, I had the urge to play again, but I was the only one home. I just started bouncing the ball off every wall in my kitchen and tried to keep a volley going. And so ultimate ping pong was born.

WHY IT'S FUN
With very little knowledge of where the ball is going to bounce next, ultimate ping pong is a great way to hone the senses of both sight and hearing. It is also a test of self control and patience (I dove three or four times and ended up hitting the cabinets) It is also a good way to get exercise. I'm in good shape, and I sill broke a sweat after 10 minutes of volley. Ultimate ping pong is a fun game to play when you're at home with nothing to do.
