Frisbee on Ice

You all know about ultimate frisbee, but have you ever tried it on ice?

ORIGIN
It was at the Rink in the Leighigh Valley. We were trying to get an ice hockey game going, but nobody had sticks or pads. I found a frisbee my car and brought it in to the arena and me and another kid just were goofing around skating and throwing the frisbee. Next thing we knew there were two large teams playing ultimate frisbee on the ice.

WHY IT'S FUN
Ultimate frisbee on land is all about running and getting yourself open. On ice that's alot more difficult than it sounds. It is almost impossible to stop on a dime and change direction on skates. This may seem like a major set back, but it actually makes the game even for superb skaters and inexperienced skaters. It is almost easier for people who don't skate as fast, but that is certainly not a very big advantage. Ultimate frisbee on ice requires sportsmanship. You can't be serious when you're playing a game as silly as this. It is required that you are able to laugh at yourself if you want to have fun playing this game. For anyone trying ultimate frisbee on ice, I recommend wearing shin and knee pads (as you fall, dive, and slide alot). It's a fun way to meet new people next time you're at an ice arena.
